Terms of E Mail Communication
Email communication with Family Doctors of East Providence (FDEP), including all physicians and staff, is offered to established patients only who have previously been seen in the office within the three-year period preceding the communication.
Email communication with physicians at FDEP is for the purpose of clarifying treatment plans that have already been established. Patient originated emails that inquire about a new problem may be filtered and returned to the sender.
The ability to satisfy email inquiries shall be at the sole discretion of the receiving physician, who has the option to require a face-to-face encounter between physician and patient.
No email communication shall be deemed as providing medical advice, whether for acute, chronic or follow up of medical issues, illnesses or problems, unless agreed upon by the receiving physician.
Email shall not be used for emergencies. If you suspect you are ill, call (401) 434-0770 to speak with an office staff member.
While Family Doctors of East Providence makes every attempt to safeguard the confidentiality of documents within our office, email data is transmitted via the Internet and therefore must be considered non-secure.
Email communications may not originate from or return to locations outside the state of Rhode Island, since physicians of Family Doctors of East Providence are licensed to practice medicine only within Rhode Island.
Email communication is available so long as access to such communication appears within this web site. Availability of email communication may be discontinued at any time without notice. The absence of email links within this web site shall be the sole indication that email communication has been discontinued.
Patients shall complete all fields of the email form. Failure to do so will result in non-reply to the message.
FDEP physicians and staff will make every effort to reply to emails within a reasonable time period. Emails are reviewed during business hours only, which exclude weekends, holidays or after 5:00 pm on weekdays.
Patients shall acknowledge receipt of messages from Family Doctors of East Providence through an email reply.
FDEP staff will not open file attachments. Please do not send file attachments.
Patients' email addresses will never be used for marketing purposes.
